At SJSU after her triple practice preseason day... we're stealing her for
dinner! She had to take Maisie in to say hi to the soccer team first :)
It's a... "Reveal Party Baby Shower!" Thursday night we threw a shower for Kelli, Mike and Landry at my parents house to let everyone (including Kelli & Mike!) know if they were going to welcome a baby girl or a baby boy into their family in November. It was a crazy day leading up to the shower... Jannie had to leave town for a funeral, Landry fell and got a fat lip and I had something fly into my eye, tried in vain to get it out for two hours while taking care of the girls and then finally had to go in to see an eye doctor who got it out BUT had to put a HUGE patch on my eye because I had scratched my retina. And this was two hours before the shower started! Heff and my dad were awesome, came home early from work to get the pizza oven fire going and work on the big "reveal" :) It ended up to be a great night and "It's A..."
"Question Mark!" keep reading...
I think I was still half drugged since I let someone take my picture like this!
My Dad was awesome to help so much! He's a pizza cooking machine

Mike and Kelly waiting for the news...
Christian and The One-Eyed Pirate
Time for the REVEAL! Everyone who guesses "boy" went on one side of the grass...
and "girl" on the other (a lot less girl guesses!)
and while they were waiting to see just how we would announce...
Heff was hiding upstairs on the secret balcony with a duvet cover full of balloons!

Cute reaction from the crowd :)
The Agnich Family... Landry is going to have a little sister! CONGRATS Kelli & Mike!
Heff can tell Mike all about the two-girl club :)
A few more pizza's for the crowd. Maisie is stuck to her BFF Christian as usual!
Francie was loving her insta-BFF Maddie at the party and kept running to hide from her. Maddie gave her a little bracelet she won't take off!
My husband and my dad are THE BEST! Somehow we pulled it off even without our Jannie!
He even did the dishes for his one-eyed wife in my pretty pink apron! Thanks Heff :)

Our last day in BB was Isabel's 2nd Birthday! We missed her, Craig and Andrea but they are anxiously awaiting a new baby brother or sister for Isabel we are all excited about! We were in Black Butte 2 years ago when we got the call she was born and we made a banner for her then too :) We had such a great time at the Heffernan Family Reunion this summer- can't wait to go back next year! (and maybe next year it won't take me an entire week to catch up on blogging all of the photos :)
Sarah made amazing spring rolls Kat and I helped her roll for dinner
"Sansie caught SIVE SISHIES!!" (Heff and Mark took her on her first real fishing expedition and it was a success! Those pics are on my other camera- so one more post will show up later :)
My favorite part of fishing...

I know, I am really gross and inappropriate. I can't help it when I even gross out my husband.

Mini Heff and Papa Heff. They don't look anything alike. (Francie is such a tomboy when she has Daddy adventures!)

Thursday night at the reunion we had dinner at Uncle Pat & Aunt Tricia's new house in Black Butte Ranch, it was beautiful! The kids loves playing on the golf course and we all loved the delicious mexican food and margaritas. Francie felt like one of the big kids and cracked us all up doing backwards sommersaults to get big laughs since her diaper had fallen off running around the golf course! Uncle Rick brought his guitar for some campfire songs and we were all up late having too much fun :)
Francie getting ready to go and feeding Corduroy his dinner of pine needles first
Roman, Ashley, Emily and Maggie
Francie and Ali with a new take on "the golf ladder game"
"How am I gonna win this game when I inherited my mom's coordiantion?"
Dad's and Uncle's (Pat in the "original" apron)
Tricia and her sister cooking up a feast... or fiesta?!
Kat and Uncle Bob (with some unknown photographer in the background)
Jessica and Anne with their babies
My sweet husband and favorite girls :)
Family Grace around the food before we eat
After dinner running around barefoot
The nakie girl entertains and will do anything for belly laughs from the big kids!
We had some down time one day in Black Butte hanging around the house with the baby girls while Francie was out fishing with her dad and Uncle Mark... so of course we took some pictures of the little girls together while they were rolling around on the floor. I brought these GIANT headband bows we put on them as a joke- they look pretty silly but kinda cute :) (Clara above in white BOW, Maisie below in pink)
Maisie is just so excited it's a nail-biter
Clara "found her feet" awhile ago and was so cute always playing with her toes... I was just telling Sarah that Maisie hadn't found her feet yet and the next day (on vacation) I was changing her diaper and trying to pry her little hands from her toes when I stopped and was like "Oh you found your feet too!"... Good work Maisie, major milestones Mom almost missed ;) Then I remembered this post when Francie found her feet on her four month birthday (Maisie beat her at 3.5 months- she's pulling her weight as second child :) I'll try to get some pictures of Maisie and her little tootsies too- you can see from the linked post Francie was so much chubbier!
Anyway... back to Clara and her feet...
The Big Cheese watching the girls before she left for her big fishing trip (with her favorite thing in the world right now... a LOLLIPOP. She asks for one like 12 times a day, "Pleeeeeease Mom? Just ONE?!" No Francie, we don't eat Lollipops for breakfast first thing n the morning my little sweet tooth.)

" the horseys are unbelievable! "
Wednesday we loaded up half the group and drove over to Redmond to check out the first day of their county fair. We all agreed it was the nicest, cleanest fair we'd ever seen... green grass everywhere, even the parking lot was grass! We saw the sheep, swine, horse, bird/rabbit and cattle barns, walked around the exhibits, rode a ride or two and lunched on tri-tip sandwhiches and fried dough of course :)
Heff and Francie "petting" a cow and asking the 4H girl all about raising cattle (like Heff used to do!)
Francie was in "hog heaven" ;)
The honeymooners Kat and Donald got back from Fiji late Tuesday night and flew right into Redmond to join in on the reunion fun! Kat with Maisie...
Brian and I realized this was our FIFTH trip to Black Butte together... we've known each other a little over four years but went up for the first time right after we met. When I went up the first time there were four little kids... Ellie (2) and the babies Kate, Roman and Brannoc. This year, with the Cahills in attendance there were a gaggle of kids but we had a few missing with cross-country moves and new babies due soon. But we figured out next year, we should have 18 KIDS UNDER 8!! That's a lot of cousins :) Francie had SO much fun hanging with the big kids and seems like a big kid now herself!
Popsicles were a big hit all week at LaLa's house

So were the frogs in the fountain
Dr Bob did a few ear checks to make sure the amoxycilian did the trick
and for the first year we had a Karaoke Night one evening!
My little night-owl outlasted half the adults but got to snuggle with her Oma :)
We swam at the Lodge Pool after Bob's Big Sport's Day...
Swimming with the "master swimmers"
JUMP to dad... "Ready... two... three... jump!"
Jana and her girls having snacks after a swim
**************
We just hung out for the rest of the week relaxing, playing games, drinking beers, fishing, walking, hiking, and playing with the kids! We...
Had wine and cocktails back at Bob & Francy's house (with BABIES everywhere!)
Swung on the swingset (the one Heff and the guys built four years ago, my first trip to Black Butte!)
Kate, Francy and Tricia made some "vintage/racy" aprons for the guys like one they found of their dad's...
Sisters sunning at the Glaze Meadow Pool
Francie had no fear on the big kid slide at the Glaze Meadow indoor pool... Dad sent her rocketing down and she ran back up over and over!
right in there with the big kids
more cousins pictures coming next :)
The Heffernan Reunion was a blast! I have way too many pictures to blog so I'm going to attempt to do it in short spurts...
We had been traveling so much in July Heff and I (more "I") were a little overwhelmed with packing up for a week and driving up to Oregon- so we took Friday night off, made dinner and relaxed then were up Saturday morning ready to pack and hit the road. Packing for four, with outdoor gear, bikes, stroller(s), swim stuff, diapers, and of course matching outfits = not easy! We left by 11:30am, not bad by my estimation, but we hit a little bit of traffic on the way out of town and it was quite a drive... 11 hours! Francie was really great in the car but Maisie got "mad, mad, maisie mad" hours 8-10 1/2 which was NOT fun. Poor thing screamed if she looked at her carseat. But we finally made it to Black Butte Ranch at 10:30pm, visited with everybody and stretched our legs before we went to sleep.
Saturday was "Bob's Big Sports Day"... a tradition on the softball field the first day of the Heffernan Family Reunion every year! It was unseasonably hot in Oregon all week- in the 90's but we had a great time in the sun with all the cousins and babies. Bob and Francy were gracious hosts as always!
Softball! (I did have a big catch in the outfield... very rare for my un-athletic self and my husband looked at me like he had never been prouder of anything I've ever done in my whole life! Thanks for who-ever hit the ball straight into my unsuspecting glove ;)
The kids found some shade to relax on the sidelines...
Emily with an impressive collection of sand "meatballs" as she taught Francie how to make spaghetti- playground style.

the kids turn to bat (a small break in the intense competitiveness ;)
Francie and Maisie had their "07" and "09" jerseys on for sports day :)
